Founder, Profit Forge

Amro Ellithy founded Profit Forge after years in public practice at a national accounting firm, where he built audit and compilation files end to end and prepared hundreds of corporate (T2) and personal (T1) returns, along with HST and GST filings and T4, T5 and T5018 slips. His experience also includes corporate accounting for a publicly traded real estate and investment company, where month-end close, quarter-end reporting and quarterly disclosure support are routine.

Profit Forge came out of something he kept running into in practice. Year after year, owners were handed a finished tax return and an invoice, and that was the entire relationship. The return was accurate. It was also the least useful thing their own numbers could have told them. Nobody sat down to explain why one job made money and the next one lost it, what cash would look like in March, or which part of the business was quietly carrying the rest.

Your financial statements are a record of every decision you have made. Read properly, they tell you which work to chase and which to turn down, which clients cost more than they pay, when you can afford to hire, and exactly where your margin goes. Most small and mid-sized businesses never get that reading, because the people trained to give it are working inside companies a thousand times their size.

That is the whole idea behind Profit Forge. The same discipline that goes into closing the books at a public company, pointed at a business doing two million a year. A full finance function, month-end close, job costing, cash forecasting, reporting and real strategy, for a fraction of what a single in-house hire would cost.
